{Learning to Ski-Steven's Pass}

Skiing. Do you want to go skiing over mid winter break, I was asked? Hmmmmm..it could be fun, but I am more of a warm weather girl. I live in Seattle for crimony sake, so any vacation we get, we like to hop on a plane and head for sun. It is what I live for..and the kids seem to like it too! So here I was, being asked to go skiing..and I said YES...and guess what? We had a blast on our SNOWY vacation!!
On Sunday, we headed over to the Leavenworth area to join the Quarnstrom Family and the Long Family at the Dirty Face Lodge! We were more than happy with our accommodations when we arrived. King size beds, huge family room, hot tub and pool, much to the kids disappointment the pool was frozen, lol! It was awesome! We enjoyed skiing in the morning, home cooked meals at night, drinks and soaks in the hot tub! It really was a relaxing vacation!

It was truly amazing how fast the girls picked up skiing. They took lessons for three days in a row and each day they were so much better. They went from red, to yellow, to green in the first two days. Once they made the green level, they were able to ride the chair lift and ski down the green runs of the mountain. Bart and I would drop them off in 9:30 in the morning and Steven's pass would do the rest...they got to wrangle all the ski equipment and get it all on their little bodies, they fed them lunch, and they got to be the ones to teach them how to get down the mountain in one piece. See, this was a good thing because when Bart and I tried to help them, well, lets just say...I will always drop them off at a lesson!! LOL! We got to pick them up at 3:00 PM and have some kid free days! ;) After their lessons, we would ski with them until the place closed at 4:00. By the end of the week, they were ready to move on to the blue runs!

Ian learning to snowboard. He was amazing too. He had never even skied, but once on the snowboard, he was going down the mountain like he had been doing it for years!

{Bugs, Butterflies and Beverages...}

Ryan, Jill and Annabella came up to visit us last week!  We had nothing to do on Saturday, so we decided to head downtown to the Pacific Science Center.  Annabella is 20 months now and loves to run around, so what better place than there??  It is big and open and has lots of fun things to look at!!
Emma and Annabella looking at the Puget Sound Tides...LOL..
