We keep asking ourselves..Where is the sun???  Summer started last week and we have been sitting in the house because it has been either raining or yucky outside.  We want our sun..c'mon summer..we wanna swim!!  :)  Enjoying a game of garbage with  Lauren while Emma was at practice!

5th grade Graduation & Last day of school!

Where did the time go?  How is it that I now have a middle school-er?  This just can not be.  I was just dropping her off at Kindergarten.  Now she is getting ready to move on to the next little journey of her life.  It makes me want to cry.  She is so young and innocent and will be heading off into the land of wolves.  The land of make-up, cell phones, texting and mean girls!!  OK..that may be a little dramatic!!  I loved my middle school years and I will definitely hold off on as many of the above as possible.  I am sure I will get the dreaded...."but mom, everyone is doing it?"  I hope to stand my ground and keep her as young as possible for as long as possible!!

Here are some shots from the 5th grade graduation and last day of school!!  I officially have a 6th grader and a 3rd grader now!!

Lauren anxiously awaiting for the end!!!

Some words from the principal.

Receiving her diploma from Ms. Devlin.

Everyone getting their food!  The weather was beautiful but made for harsh shadows on all my pictures!!

Emma and her 5th grade teacher Ms. Devlin.  She was a wonderful teacher.  We absolutely loved her!

Wacky Hair Day at school!

I love when my kids wake up a little late, rush around the house getting their morning routine done and then at the last moment...tell me it is WACKY HAIR DAY!!!!  Mom!!!  It is wacky hair day...we have to do something.  So since we did not have any colored sprays or a very imaginative hair plan..we just threw a bunch of curling ribbon on pigtails like last year!!  Good thing is...that is still the best thing ever to a 8 year old!!  Oh and not only was it wacky hair day...it was the 2nd grade picnic too....so they got to play outside and eat with their classmates down at the park.  Lucky for us..the weather was nice!!
Here is Lauren with her friend and then playing a little bit of kickball!!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to my dad....who we miss and love dearly.  This was taken in 1997 at Green Peter.  I can't remember why, but Bart and I and my dad drove over there and then we found Ryan while he was camping so we took a shot on the side of the road.  This was a few months after my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer...

I also would like to wish a Happy Father's day to Bart...a wonderful dad to the girls and to his dad Woody!!  :)

Softball season is over!!

This was the last game of the season a few nights ago.  It was a heartbreaking loss for Emma and her team . If they would have won this playoff game they would have played their next game at Husky Stadium. They were ahead the entire game until the last inning. Lots of tears from the girls...they wanted it bad. :(  Still so very proud of Emma though, she played her little heart out!!

The Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge

This was the last  leg of 5th grade camp!!  We gathered out tired troops  and headed up north towards home.  However, we stopped at Nisqually National Wildlife Reserve first.  The kids enjoyed doing a few quick  learning exercises and having lunch.  After lunch we walked on a huge hike around the property.  It was fun to take in the sights and just see all the amazing beauty we have all around us!!  Once the hike was over, we gather back at the buses..said our good-byes and headed back to the school!!!  Such a  great experience for all of the 5th graders at Emma's school!!  They all seemed to have a really good time.  They were polite and well behaved, courteous to each other and a great representation of our school!!  Well done 5th graders!!!  Here are some shots from around the property.  Lots and lots of green!!
