Summer Fun...

Ahhhhh...to be a kid again.  To run in the fountains...to have not a worry in the world! The girls had a fun day today hanging out with our neighbors down at the fountain.  So much fun it didn't even bother them to sun bath on a hill slanting straight down! LOL!

ClickinMoms Scavenger Hunt 2010

So on July 1st, I started the Clickin' Moms Scavenger Hunt
www.clickinmoms.com
Sure this will be fun....keep me busy...be an activity to include the kids....fast forward to today.  I have 3 more days and still many items to get.  I think I have already got over 250..but the list seems like it is never shrinking.  My poor family is getting tired of being carted around from place to place looking for uni brows, mullets, and acorns.  My neighbors probably cringe when they see me because they know they need to put on the sumo wrestler suit and the tux. LOL!!  But it will all end on the 31st.  I will be done looking for items and the fun will be over.  Oh and did I say....it would be fun and keep me busy???  I was already busy..what was I thinking!! Here are two of my favorite shots...my friends Stacy and Kaleen are such good sports! After it is over I will post a link for you to see all my pictures from the hunt!

So Proud....

A full week of ice skating!!  Both Emma and Lauren took the "Jump Ahead" ice skating camp this past week!!  To say they loved it would be an understatement!!  On the last day they had a skating performance for all the parents.  They were all tigers dressed in orange and black and did a number to "Eye of the Tiger".  It was really cute!!  Then they were all given awards at the end!!  Some of the girls were even moved up a level during this week long camp. Score!!  Emma and Lauren both waited anxiously to see if they passed. Sure enough they did and got to move up a level!!  They were so pleased with themselves!!

Now THAT is a lot of Meds....

Bart had to go in for his ACL surgery today.  He tore it into two a few months ago while we were skiing.  So I dropped him off this morning at 8:00 a. m. for his big day.  When I went in later to check on him...he was all talkative and happy....the only complaint he had was the ugly stockings they told him he had to wear.  Well his chatty happiness must have been the meds, because now he is home and said he can hardly remember me and Ian even being there! HA!! Here are few shots of him...all decked out in his gown and his post surgery hair do!!
Now we get to sit here and figure out at what time he gets to take all these drugs! :)

Lauren's Backyard Picnic

This is what you get when you have a seven year old prepare your picnic!!  You get mac-n-cheese instead of sandwiches.  Lauren will not eat sandwiches.  You get watermelon and blueberries.  The blue berries were for Emma. Lauren also will not eat blueberries!!  Can you tell she is a picky eater?!?! You get strawberries, yes, Lauren actually likes strawberries and you get red cups because almost everything is red!  I guess she likes to match, LOL! She actually laid out the blanket, made the food (minus the mac-n-cheese, I helped with that) and set it all up for Emma and I! A perfect picnic from my cute little seven year old! :)

Happy Birthday Miss Emma!

We celebrated Emma's birthday the other day with a few friends from school. Emma's birthday was in May, but it always falls near Memorial Day weekend and a lot of her friend's were out of town or busy.  Then it got put off because of the many end of school activities, so it ended up being in June!  Which worked out just fine!  She invited a few of her friends for a "spa day" at Lilly's in Queen Anne.  They got to enjoy manicures, pedicures and facials along with some delicious cupcakes and sugar-rimmed strawberry lemonades. YUM! After the spa...they all came back for dinner and a sleep-over.  Yeah..I am crazy!!  However, they were all very good.  They played kick ball outside until dark and once in for the night they made cookies and got ready for bed.  This was at midnight!!  At 12:30..I went back in to tell them to quiet down and get some sleep.  This is when they told me they were trying to break their records of how long they could stay up.  WHAT?!?!?!  I reminded them that Bart had to work in the morning and to be quiet.  At 1:30...still lots of laughing and talking.  Surely they should be getting tired soon, right?  I was re-thinking all the sweets I let them have.  At 2:30..I gave up and started to drift off to sleep...only to hear more giggling and walking around. Soon after it was quiet!  Thank God...I was tired!  The next morning they all popped up and were as cheery as can be.  I on the other hand was exhausted..but I cheerfully made them french toast and bacon and then sent them on their way when their parents arrived!!!  I am pretty sure it was a good time had by all! Especially Lauren, she thought she had died and gone to heaven..being able to hang with the big girls all night!:)
