Happy Birthday to MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

I love, love, love birthdays!!  Especially when they are mine!  I don't even care if I get any presents...I just like having birthdays!  I wonder if I will feel that way next year when I turn 40?  Nah...I think I will be just fine!!  I still feel like I am 18 and life is good...so how could I not like being 40?  Here are my gifts from my husband and daughters today!  This morning the girls were super excited to give me their gifts.  Maybe a little TOO excited as they burst into tears over who was going to hand them out!  Not a good start...but all was settled and my mini party over a bowl of cereal poured by Lauren was started!  I am a lucky, lucky girl!  My family knows Anthropologie is my favorite store so I got some candles, a new necklace and some monogrammed sticky notes from there!  YAYNESS!!

A meet-up with another photographer...

Recently I was contacted by another photographer about my newborn work.  :)  She liked my work and wanted to meet up and possibly have me show her how I do my posing etc. with newborns.  I was flattered! She is seriously so sweet, so I decided to help her out and kind of give her a mentoring session with a "real" newborn.  I have never "mentored" anyone before in real life.  Sure, I am a mentor on Clickinmoms, but this is a real life situation..yikes!  I am excited to give her some tips on the upcoming newborn we will be shooting in a few weeks!  Hopefully she will learn a trick or two!!
Oh and of course, a post is worthless without pictures!!  Erin brought her little boy to play with Anna while we talked!  Anna loved having a new playmate! Oh and speaking of newborns..I just got done shooting a sweet little girl!  I will have her on my business blog soon!!  My poor business blog needs a new post..that is on my to-do list for tomorrow!

St. Patrick's Day pictures....

St. Patrick's Day has come and gone so I need to get a few of the shots from that on the blog!  Last year the tricky, little leprechaun visited our house on St. Patrick's Day.  He decorated it, left some candy and gold coins and also turned the milk green and a few other mischievous things. That leprechaun, he was so on top of things!  Well this St. Patrick's Day, Lauren woke up and came into our room and told me to "Wake Up"!!  We needed to go downstairs and see what things the leprechaun did. Hmmmmm..I laid there thinking...I am pretty sure the leprechaun did NOTHING this year, so I had to warn her that the leprechaun is tricky..He doesn't do his "fun stuff" at the same time each year.  Some years he likes to mix it up and do fun stuff for when kids get home from school!!! She wasn't to thrilled to see that the leprechaun had chose to do his fun stuff later in the day this year!  However, she was thrilled when she got home and saw that he had indeed visited her house and decorated her room and the table with some treats! As for Emma..she liked her room decorations too and the cupcakes! ;)

Last days in paradise....

Ok..so this is it for the Hawaii pictures.  I actually felt like I didn't take my camera out that much while I was there..but once I got home I realized I had over 1300 shots.  That is a lot.  So even though I posted a TON...there are still a ton more....but these were the ones I wanted included on my blog.  You may ask why so many...mostly because I make my blog into books.  It is an easy way to document our lives through the year!!

So this was the last time we had to take Ian to the medical center in the Hyatt.  We stopped by there after dinner at Aloha Mixed Plate.  So while we were waiting...we took goofy shots......

..like an entrance to the hotel bar...

My good friend Stacy and I

After Stacy, Eric and Cash left to go to the airport..we still had the whole day.  Our flight did not leave until later that night. So what were we to do?  Well we headed off to see Pete and Holly.  They were staying at the Ritz..so we got to explore another beautiful hotel and hit the beach one last time.  They had gorgeous flowers...

...very well, manicured grounds....

...a beautiful view.  The grassy area is protected all the way down to the beach...so no one can go on it past that hedge...

...a fun hammock...

...and another great beach.  This was the D.T. Flemming beach.  Last time we were in Maui..we sat on the beach right next to Jessica Biel and her family for about 3 hours...that was fun....

...this time we got to watch a 4 year old surfer!!!  So cute!

Lauren with a little friend she made on the beach.

The last time playing in the beautiful waves...

Pete, Holly and the girls heading back up to the Ritz with Turtle Island.

...and the last view out of their hotel room before we headed off to the airport!!!

So that's it...that was Hawaii for us for the past 11 days all contained in the last 11 blog posts.  We had such a great time, with such a great group of people.  I can't wait to do it again!!! I hope you enjoyed all of the pics!!
