Hey this actually works...5 Minute Chocolate Cake.

Suzanne sent me one of those emails that spreads around the Internet like wild fire. You know those emails that tell you to send it out to 50, 000 people in the next 5 seconds or else you will have the worst luck ever, or you will die a horrible death or you will not get into heaven. Then there are the ones that say if you forward the email, Bill Gates or Pepsi Corp will send you a check, YA RIGHT!! I usually delete those kind of emails immediately!! But I actually opened this one up...it was a recipe to make chocolate cake in a coffee mug in less than 5 minutes! Interesting, but does it work?? Emma and Lauren were more than willing to test it out. So we got out our mugs and followed the directions to a tee!! And guess what, it actually turned out. It didn't look the best on the plate, but it did work.

Emma liked it, but she said it should be sweeter..I think she is used to frosting.

Bart took a bite, even though he didn't want to, he hates cake, he said it was OK.

Ian ate the whole thing and said it was pretty good.

Lauren loved it, which surprised me, since she usually only eats the frosting and this had none.

And I thought it was actually pretty good!

Before going into the microwave....

Finished product!! 5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour

4 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons cocoa

1 egg

3 tablespoons milk

3 tablespoons oil

3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)

a small splash of vanilla extract

1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!
